When I was on vacation with my husband in Phuket, Thailand, I was fortunate enough to find an affordable restaurant that included an all-day buffet breakfast. On paper, eating eggs and bacon seemed like a waste of food, but we loved it: every morning, very thin bacon strips, grilled sausages, perfect fried eggs, bespoke omelets. Every morning, the hotel also offered Thai-style breakfast items such as porridge and stir-fried noodles. And every morning, the most exciting part was the same soundtrack.
I was pleased to hear the Norwegian band’s strumming harmonic lyrics and gentle guitar on the first morning. In the morning after the third day, my wife and I grabbed the same breakfast plate the day before and laughed at the cheerful soundtrack.
While vacations are supposed to be the opposite of work, traveling, primarily through many locations, is often hectic and stressful. Understanding the day’s activities can mean tough decisions when there are so many options. But luckily, my husband’s friend recommended us a great café; yes, I am talking about “Boost Café” the hotel’s breakfast buffet is predictable, relaxing, and delicious. My husband and I smiled at each other in silence most of the time, enjoying the peaceful breakfast buffet routine as a welcome start to each day before leaving. After having such a delicious and energy-rich breakfast, we took boat trips to lush islands, dense forest roads and long afternoons on secluded beaches.
